Xiaomi Mi A3 – Full Specification, Price & Features.
Alright, the Xiaomi Mi series is one of the most popular smartphones among the other Xiaomi series. Because of the number of good specs packed to it and the main reason is buy for is the software! , yes xiaomi A-series phones are coming out with a pure Android experience named Android One program. This UI is moreover the same as we get from Pixel devices which comes up with zero % of bloatware, Pre-loaded google apps and the pure version of (vanilla) android OS. Okay now it’s the question here, does xiaomi done a lot better here than the previous A-series smartphone? Let’s find out this new Xiaomi Mi A3 is a good value for money and the full review of this Mi A3.
Xiaomi brings out a different technology here in the display department. Yes, it is an AMOLED panel that is usually meant to give us more power-efficient and bright, crisp and deep black & punchy colors than the IPS LCD panel. Yes even though it’s an AMOLED panel it only supports up to HD+, not FHD+ which is really hurting me a lot. The reason why xiaomi puts here only HD+ display is that the IN-DISPLAY Fingerprint Scanner beneath it. The Fingerprint Scanner is also not as fast as what we seeing in other smartphone devices. This is were xiaomi went wrong. Apart from the con’s the display is cool because of the AMOLED panel and the tiny dew-drop notch up there. when compared to its own brand Redmi note 7 pro which comes up with an FHD+ IPS LCD panel, I’ll definitely recommend you to go for the Note 7 pro.
This is the only department xiaomi did a great work I would say. Because of the glass back which gives a great feel while in hands and the S-pattern when light falls on it looks so gorgeous. The color variants also super cool, I’m just loving it! The built also very good due to the good material is used up here and thanks for the Gorilla Glass-5 here for protection. Overall the Xiaomi Mi A3 is good for design and built, but…! wait what is used for but here? yes like it’s displayed here also few but’s(cons) is there. The phone front looks good but the notch setup is slightly bigger than the Note 7 pro. And the lower chin is also slightly tall among others. The sound from the single firing speaker is also low.
Performance and Software:
The Xiaomi Mi A3 has a built-in with a decent chip inside from QUALCOMM SNAPDRAGON 665 processor which is built based on an 11nm size module which is the same as 675 chip in Note 7 Pro. The benchmarks are absolute fine for a Mid-range device. The overall performance is okay for me which easily runs heavy tasks like playing Pubg Mobile and other heavy games. And also runs out some riskful tasks like rendering etc..Overall, It feels snappy for me, apps open up fast and memory management is also great all thanks to the stock android program(OS).
This is it!. Then this is the real reason to buy this one. The phone itself comes up with Android (Pie)9. Like the traditional Mi A-series following A1 & A2, this one also comes under the Android One program. This gives Pixel kinda stock android experience with two next versions of Android updates and monthly security updates for two years which guaranteed and promised. This is bread and butter for me. We can enjoy the pure version of android and also this helps the device to even snappy. I would definitely recommend you to buy this one on behalf of the software side.
Like the other Mi-series, this one also has great cameras both front and back. On the back, it has a triple camera setup of (48 MP main + 8MP wide + 2MP depth). The 48 MP main sensor is the same Sony IMX-586 lens which is recently found out on every smartphone nowadays. Yeah, the back camera produces stunning images on good lighting conditions but the slightly loses the light. The Xiaomi still needs to fix these lowlight images because still we have found some noises in the background. The portrait shots were really good.
The camera on the front is a 32MP single shooter with f/2.0. The color looks really natural and the bokeh effects are really cool. But the skin tones seams to slightly washed and soften the images. The video quality is okay for me it can shoot up to 4K @30fps but lack of Ois and Eis is slightly disappointing me. The 1080P video is more stable with sharp details and stable.
Battery & Storage :
The battery in this device is really good which easily takes for me up to one day with a full charge. Xiaomi promises this one support up to 18W quick charge 3. But we got only a 10W Type-C adapter in the box. But the 4030 mAh battery is easily fought a day and takes us to the next day. The consumption is also good and again thanks to stock android here.
We get 4GB and 6GB RAM/64GB ROM. And this is stock OS so google gives unlimited usage for Google Photos for saving the photos. The interesting thing about this device comes up with UFS 2.1 storage, so the data will so fast and the storage speed is so fast.

In conclusion, the Xiaomi Mi A3 is a perfect device for those people who prefer stock android and the ergonomic design with just under 15k price tag. Overall MI A3 does takes a real share in the Mid-range market. But for me, it may be still better with high-resolution FHD+ display and more storage and better speakers, because the previous generation Mi A2 was complete gold. Except for the display everything thing is here is a perfect shot! and yeah Xiaomi slightly degrades the spec sheet here I would say. I hope Xiaomi would fix this in the future.
